Graphic design for the novel »Mitt år som mördare«, a generation novel about German wartime and postwar history. The author Friedrich Christian Delius combines the fictional autobiography with live contemporary history and touches on the subjects of guilt, revenge, justice, life and death.
The illustration on the cover is an authentic frequency wheel for Rias Berlin radio transmission stations, a radio station in the American Sector of Berlin during the Cold war that plays a main role in the novel. The wheel also resembles the look of a shooting target – suitable to the title: Mitt år som mördare / My year as a murderer.
The typewriter, together with an old folder with documents, has a big part of the plot in this story, therefore the title and the chapters was set in a typewriter font, and the typical font size for a manual typewriter was kept, also on the cover.
