Graphic design for the anthologhy »Kärlek x 21«, twentyone short stories about the diverse subject »Love« written by authors from the African continent, edited by Ama Ata Aidoo, Bokförlaget Tranan.
The typography for the title »Kärlek x 21« is handmade with wooden letter stamps and ink then digitalized.
To contrast with the roman text the subtitle of the book and the name of the authors are set in an upright italic. I choosed this italic because it both looked interesting and it also worked well with the content of the book. Edgy counterforms, a cursive construction, unexpected loop strokes and open endings. The capitals have swashes while the lowercase still remains straightforward – a look I thought worked well with the content of the book.
